KATS 2024 Branding

Each year, we have our 'KATS' award ceremony at school. The Music & Drama departments join together for an evening celebrating everything that's taken place over the last year. It's a really great event, so I was really excited when I was asked to design the branding for 2024!

The theme was 'Vegas!', and I wanted to create a brand that would look amazing projected onto the screen during the evening.

Given the theme, I wanted to take inspiration from the sights and sounds of Las Vegas - in particular, the giant 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign stood out to me. I wanted to incorporate that into my logo.

After playing around on photoshop for a while, I managed to build a logo. Working with the Drama department, we refined the logo until it looked something like this:

I then animated the logo, meticulously filling in each of the bulbs in an alternating pattern to create this effect:

I then got to the really fun part - building the PowerPoint! I wanted to capture the neon lights and twinkling stars of the Vegas strip in my design, so chose to use a neon-outline font (with a red glow) to create this effect. The background of the PowerPoint was a twinkly star animation, and I reused my GIF of the logo with it's alternating lights.

Overall, I was really pleased with how this came out, and it worked well for the evening!
