Well that was pretty awful!!
Catherine Russell has been the lead actress in every performance since 1987, and it shows. The whole story seems tired, and she seemed to have mentally checked out. Attempts to drag it (kicking and screaming) into the modern day fall flat - just shouting 'Alexa!' to mute the music seemed feeble.
The second half became cryptically complex, and in the warm theatre, it is possible that I may have been resting my eyes for just a moment... But no problem! They helpfully provided a 2-sided sheet of A4 on the way out explaining the plot to the entirely befuddled audience.
Yep. Wouldn't recommend.
